Rain running off a gutter onto dark asphalt shingles

Roof replacement across King and Snohomish counties

A roof ready for 156 rain days a year.

We book a free in-home estimate with one Washington-registered roofer. Moss holds water and can lift shingles, so the visit looks past the surface: decking, flashing, gutters and attic ventilation.

What the roof visit covers

One registered pro walks through it with you. A good roof estimate looks at more than the finish.

  • Moss, debris and the condition of the shingles or shakes
  • Soft or rotten decking
  • Flashing at chimneys, skylights and walls
  • Gutters, downspouts and overflow
  • Attic ventilation and insulation
  • Material options: composition, cedar or metal

Every good project starts with a plan.

  1. 1Tell us about the room

A few details, your ZIP and the best number to reach you. It takes about a minute.

  2. 2We match one registered pro

Someone with an active Washington L&I registration for your type of work, with a bond and insurance on file.

  3. 3A free visit at your home

They measure, look at what is there, and talk through options, permits and timing with you.

  4. 4A written estimate, your decision

No pressure and no obligation. Take your time with it.

Local Home Remodeling is a free booking service. We schedule your estimate with an independent contractor registered with Washington L&I, who prices and does the work under their own contract.

Why one pro, and not five

Many lead sites pass one request to several companies. We book one contractor, so you get one call, one visit and one estimate to weigh.

One contractor per request

We book one pro for your project and stop there. Your number is never sold to a list, so the phone does not ring all week.

Free for you, start to finish

The estimate costs nothing and comes with no obligation. Participating contractors pay us for the appointments we book. You never pay us.

What are we planning?

Where, and when?

What kind of kitchen project?
What kind of bathroom project?
What kind of roof project?
What kind of cabinet project?
What kind of flooring project?
What kind of painting project?

That ZIP looks outside King and Snohomish counties. Send the request anyway and we will let you know.

When would you like to start?

Who should the pro ask for?

Your request goes to one contractor, not a list. It is free because contractors pay us for the visits we book.

Best time to call you

Before your roof visit

A little prep makes the visit count. None of it is required, and the pro measures everything.

Questions before you book? Call (206) 555-0148.

  • Note any ceiling stains or attic drips, and when they show up
  • Find the year the roof went on, if you know it
  • Have everyone who makes the decision there
  • No measuring or tidying needed. Photos of ideas you like help
  • Ask for their L&I registration number and proof of insurance, and check the number on L&I Verify
  • Ask who pulls the permits, if the work needs them
  • Get the estimate in writing, with the scope, materials, timeline and payment schedule
  • Take your time. A large cash deposit or pressure to sign that day is a red flag
